Welcome To My Home

You’ll find that it’s predominantly filled with books, among them books that I have written. Most of them are installments in two series. The first series is historical fiction born of my love of two periods: the bravery of the resistance in World War II and the age of the Viking expansion in trade. The second series reflects my fascination with crime—mostly crime that is committed stupidly. Are there no clever criminals?

Two books are standalone efforts. One focuses on a stand against racial discrimination that a 1951 football team took at great expense to themselves and their university, in an era when it was unheard of to do so. The other book is about a female senator from California and her run for the presidency of the United States.

If you click on "Read More" under the cover and description of each book, you will learn what prompted me to write that particular story. It is a kind of baring of the author’s soul of inspiration.

A Moral Stance: Solidarity Within the 1951 USF Dons

The University of San Francisco football team went undefeated and untied in 1951. They were considered for a spot playing in the Orange Bowl for the National Championship against Georgia Tech. The invitation came with a caveat that they leave there two African American players at home. Never before or for eight years after, had any University not accepted those terms. The Players from USF stood firm against this discrimination.

Doc Nelson became the University of San Francisco's Men's Golf coach in 2005, and then the Athletic Director. As Athletic Director, he became intimately familiar with not only the story of the 1951 Don football team, but with many of the individuals that played on that squad.

A dog’s love for her master provides the clues that the police need for solving the disappearance of a young woman who works for a multimillion dollar charitable foundation. Rob MacKay is asked by the owner of the foundation to find the woman. When police discover that twenty-eight million dollars are also missing, the case becomes more complicated, exposing the sometimes sordid dealings of the Silicon Valley’s Tech community.
